I present a selection of pieces made for the group firing of the Manawa kiln at Matariki, 2026.
These pieces showcase a continued exploration of slab building and construction with varying levels of decoration. They are playful and a little brutal. The vases are constructed as scaffold for flower arrangements, imploding the traditionally curvacious form of the flower vase.
The building maquettes are a playful exploration of scale as well as a container for incense to be burned.
These are one off pieces and won’t be repeated.
